
Lemurs Rally in the Seventh

Laredo, TX - The Laredo Lemurs break up their three game losing streak with a three run seventh, that leads them to a 8-6 win over the Wichita Wingnuts, on Monday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.
Both clubs got on the board early with former major leaguer John Rodriguez homering in the first and John Allen tying up the game for the Lemurs with a homerun in the bottom of the second, to make it a 1-1 game.
The Wingnuts scored two in top of the second and the Lemurs would come back to score four in the bottom half of the second. The Lemurs John Allen led off the inning with a walk followed by a Stephen Pearson base hit. Palmer Karr Jr. walked to load the bases, which was followed up by an Anthony Scelfo walk, to bring in a run and make the score 3-2 Wingnuts. The inning would continue for the Lemurs, with a walk to Brian Peterson, that tied up the game at three. Jimmy Mojica followed that with a base hit to drive in one more run for the Lemurs to take a 4-3 lead. Uriak Marquez then grounded into a double play which scored Scelfo from third to give the Lemurs a 5-3 lead.
With the score tied at five a piece the Lemurs would come to the plate in the bottom of the seventh. Uriak Marquez led off the inning with a triple to right. Javier Brito then doubled to bring in the runner from third to give the Lemurs a 6-5 lead. The Lemurs would continue the inning with a Stephen Douglas double, driving in Brito from second for a 7-5 Lemurs lead. With one out, Stephen Pearson pulled out a double to bring in Douglas, and give the Lemurs and 8-5 lead.
The Wingnuts would score a run in the eighth against Chaz Roe, but it wouldn't be enough to comeback against the Lemurs. Edwin Walker earned the win for the Lemurs in relief as he moves his record to 1-1 on the year.
Wingnuts relief pitcher James Baker took the loss, he is now 0-1 for his new team
