Time Change Allows Amerks Fans To Enjoy Full Day Of Hockey

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans are encouraging local hockey fans to enjoy a full day of hockey on Sunday, February 28th. The Amerks have moved their American Hockey League contest from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. to allow fans to watch the Olympic Men's gold-medal ice hockey game. That game, at the XXI Winter Olympic Games, will face off at 3:00 p.m. in Vancouver.

"To accommodate all the avid fans of Rochester, the Americans have moved the start time of our game vs. Binghamton on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. This will allow our fans to watch the Olympic Men's gold-medal game (whoever the finalists are) before the start of the Amerks game," said Amerks President Lewis Staats. "We are also opening the doors of the arena at 2:30 p.m. and inviting fans to come and watch the gold-medal game on the video boards."

Team USA and Team Canada are both playing the semifinals today to determine who will play for the gold medal. The United States plays Finland at 3:00 p.m. today, while Canada battles Slovakia at 9:30 p.m.

The Amerks game falls on an Amerks Red Hot Sunday. Fans can take advantage of the Zweigle's Family Four Pack and receive four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for just $44.
