Timbers Forward Jaroslaw Niezgoda to Miss Remainder of Season

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Timbers forward Jaroslaw Niezgoda will miss the remainder of the season after the results of an MRI revealed a torn ACL in his left knee, the club announced today.

Niezgoda, who suffered the injury in Sunday's 1-0 win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Providence Park, will undergo surgery on Monday, Nov. 9. A timetable for his return will be determined following the procedure.

Niezgoda has tallied eight goals and two assists in 20 appearances (7 starts) across all competitions for the Timbers, since joining the club in 2020. In regular-season play, Niezgoda tallied seven goals and one assist in 17 games played (7 starts). In seven appearances (1 start) during MLS is Back Tournament play, Niezgoda tallied two goals and one assist. Notably, Niezgoda finished his campaign with the third-highest scoring percentage (58.3%) in MLS history with his rate of seven goals on 12 shots in league play this season.
