
Timbers Fall 4-1 on the Road to Austin FC at Q2 Stadium

AUSTIN, Texas - Playing their third game in nine days, the Portland Timbers fell 4-1 on the road to Austin FC at Q2 Stadium on Thursday night. Jeremy Ebobisse scored his second goal of the 2021 campaign, while Diego Valeri and Marvin Loría tallied an assist each. Portland will return from the international break on July 17, playing host to FC Dallas at Providence Park.
Goal-Scoring Plays
ATX - Jon Gallagher (Tomás Pochettino), 28th minute: Receiving the ball on the right side of the 18-yard box, Pochettino slipped a square pass to the feet of Gallagher, who slotted the ball into the back of the net from close range.
ATX - Diego Fagundez (Cecilio Domínguez, Julio Cascante), 33rd minute: Domínguez received the ball from Cascante and laid it off for Fagundez just outside the box. After taking a few touches, Fagundez curled his shot inside of the right post.
POR - Jeremy Ebobisse (Marvin Loría, Diego Valeri), 45+7 minute: Valeri chipped the ball over Austin's backline, finding Loría on the right flank. Inching the ball into the box, Loría cut it back across the top of the six-yard box for Ebobisse, who came sliding in and fired the ball into the top netting.
ATX - Alex Ring (Cecilio Domínguez), 77th minute: Domínguez sent a free kick into the center of the box from the right wing and Ring redirected the ball with a header inside the left post.
ATX - Héctor Jiménez (Jared Stroud), 81st minute: Stroud dribbled toward the end line on the right side of the box, picking out Jiménez near the penalty spot. Jiménez created space with a quick touch and passed the ball into the left corner of the goal.

Jeremy Ebobisse recorded his second goal of the regular season.
Ebobisse is the fourth Timbers player to record multiple goals in 2021 campaign.
Nine different players have scored across 11 regular season matches for Portland this season.
Diego Valeri tallied his third assist across all competitions in 2021.
The assist was Valeri's 90th career assist in regular season play.
Marvin Loría registered his second assist of the regular season.
Loría is the fourth player for Portland to record multiple assists in the 2021 campaign.

Next Game
Following the international break, the Timbers will return to action on July 17, playing host to FC Dallas at Providence Park.
