5 Things to Know about #DALvVAN

Build Momentum

FC Dallas has a chance to build up a head of steam against last-place Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Last week, FCD got a win over the Eastern Conference's top team in New England Revolution which helped Dallas leapfrog Vancouver in the standings. Sunday's game is FCD's last home match before embarking on a three-game road trip, so three points at Toyota Stadium would be the perfect send off.

Ricardo Pepi

Eighteen-year-old forward Ricardo Pepi scored his first-ever MLS brace last week, making him FCD's leading scorer this season. With four goals from just 381 MLS minutes this year, Pepi is averaging a goal every 95 minutes. Pepi's standout performance earned his first-ever MLS Team of the Week inclusion, alongside head coach Luchi Gonzalez.

Fourth of July

In its 18 games played on the Fourth of July, FC Dallas is 10-4-4. FCD has also won its last six matches on that date. Dallas has faced D.C. United five times, Chicago Fire, New England Revolution, New York MetroStars/Red Bulls and Chivas USA twice, and Atlanta United FC, Orlando City SC, Toronto FC, Sporting Kansas City and Philadelphia Union once. The Vancouver Whitecaps will be the 12th team that Dallas faces on America's birthday and second Canadian team.

Against Vancouver

FC Dallas' all-time regular season record against Vancouver is 10-6-6 (30 GF, 26 GA). Dallas' home record against the club is 7-1-2 (18 GF, 10 GA). Dallas' last game against Vancouver was in June of 2020 and the clubs played to a 2-2 draw at Toyota Stadium.

About Vancouver

Vancouver started the 2021 season brightly with two wins and a draw from its opening four games. However, the club then registered five straight losses before earning a 1-1 draw against the Western Conference leaders Seattle Sounders last time out. The club currently sits in last place in the West.
