Timbers Earn Road Point with Scoreless Draw against Houston Dynamo FC

HOUSTON - The Portland Timbers earned a point on the road in their 0-0 result against Houston Dynamo FC at PNC Stadium on Saturday night. Notably, the Timbers have earned at least one point in three of their four road matches this season. The result extended Portland's unbeaten streak against Houston to seven straight matches (4-0-3), dating back to May 15, 2019. The Timbers will return home to host Real Salt Lake at Providence Park on Saturday, April 23; kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific) on FOX 12 PLUS.
Timbers' Undefeated Streak
Tonight's matchup marked the 21st regular season meeting between the Timbers and Dynamo FC. Portland leads the all-time series 9-5-7, and is undefeated in the last seven regular season matchups with Houston (4-0-3), dating back to May 15, 2019. Notably, Portland is also unbeaten in its last four road matches against the Dynamo (1-0-3).
Milestone Moments
In the 12th minute of tonight's match, Diego Chara committed his 757th career foul, breaking the all-time MLS record. Previously held by Kyle Beckerman, D. Chara broke the record in 180 less matches played than Beckerman. D. Chara finished the night with three fouls for a total of 759. In the 53rd minute of the match, Sebastián Blanco surpassed 10,000 regular season minutes played for Portland. He is just the fifth player in Timbers history to log 10,000 minutes while with the club behind Diego Chara, Jack Jewsbury, Darlington Nagby and Diego Valeri. Additionally, Cristhian Paredes made his 100th appearance across all competitions for Portland tonight.
