CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union played Toronto FC on Saturday night at BMO Field, falling 2-1. With the loss, the Union remain in first place in the Eastern Conference with 16 points. In the first half, the Union opened up the scoring in the 34th minute with a headed goal by Julian Carranza, assisted by Daniel Gazdag and Mikael Uhre. The hosts equalized in the 39th minute with a goal by Jesús Jiménez. The second half was controlled by the Union, but Toronto secured all three points, ending the Union's six-game unbeaten streak.
The Union are back at home to take on CF Montreal at Subaru Park on Saturday, April 23 (3:00 p.m. ET / PHL17).
