Portland Timbers News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - Major League Soccer today unveiled the full 34-game, 2017 regular-season schedule for the Portland Timbers. The Timbers kick off the 2017 season with a match against expansion side Minnesota United FC on Friday, March 3, at Providence Park on FS1; kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. (Pacific).

Starting on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. (Pacific), fans can purchase single-game tickets for the first half of the season (through June 10) online at www.timbers.com or by calling (888) 736-6849. A special presale for Timbers Annual Members and members of the Timbers Annual Member Waiting List, Thorns FC Annual Members and corporate partners will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Single-game tickets for the second half of the season will go on sale in late May. Along with the nationally televised home opener on March 3, seven Timbers home games will be broadcast nationally, including matches at Providence Park against expansion side Atlanta United FC (May 14), LA Galaxy (Aug. 6), New York Red Bulls (Aug. 20) and Orlando City SC (Sept. 24).

The Timbers open Cascadia Cup play on April 22 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC in one of three meetings between the sides, and the first of two at Providence Park. All three of the matches between Portland and Seattle will feature a national television broadcast with the team's only meeting at Providence Park on June 25 (ESPN), and matches at Century Link Field on May 27 (FOX) and Aug. 27 (FS1).

Vancouver is the only Western Conference team to visit Providence Park twice as the Timbers and Whitecaps FC square off in the Rose City on April 22 and Oct. 22. Conversely, Portland will travel twice during the regular season to face San Jose in addition to Seattle.

This season the Timbers will face six Eastern Conference opponents at Providence Park. Portland will play host to Eastern Conference teams New England (April 2), Atlanta (May 14), Chicago (July 5), New York Red Bulls (Aug. 20), Orlando City (Sept. 24) and D.C. United (Oct. 15). Fans can check the Timbers schedule page to see flight options available through Alaska Airlines.

The Timbers play home matches on four different days of the week this season, including 14 weekend contests and eight Sunday home games. In addition to the Sunday home games, the Timbers play host to four Saturday, three Wednesday and two Friday fixtures at Providence Park.

Portland closes out the regular season with consecutive home matches for the first time in the MLS era. The Timbers will play host to D.C. United at Providence Park on Oct. 15 and conclude the regular season against Cascadia rival Whitecaps FC on Oct. 22.
