Toronto FC Releases 2017 MLS Regular Season Schedule

Major League Soccer (MLS) announced Thursday the complete regular season schedule for the 2017 season; which marks the 22nd season in league history.

Toronto FC will open the eleventh season in club history on Saturday, March 4 against Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium. It will mark the eleventh consecutive year the team will open the season on the road. Toronto FC will host Sporting KC to open the 2017 home schedule on Friday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

During the 2017 season, Toronto FC will play 18 matches on Saturdays, six on Fridays, six on Wednesdays and four on Sundays. At home the club will play seven matches on Saturdays, five on Fridays, three on Wednesdays and two Sundays.

Eight of the Reds 17 home matches will come against clubs that made the 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs. Toronto FC will play three matches against expansion sides, Atlanta United FC and Minnesota United FC. The Reds will host Atlanta on Saturday, April 8 and conclude the 2017 MLS Regular Season in Atlanta on Sunday, October 22. Minnesota will travel to Toronto on Saturday, May 13 in the only meeting between the clubs this season. Toronto FC will face Canadian rivals, Montreal Impact on three occasions this season. Montreal will play host on Sunday, August 27 and come to Toronto on Wednesday, September 20 and Sunday, October 15. The Reds will travel to the West Coast to face Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, March 18. Toronto will travel to play the defending MLS Cup Champions, Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, May 6 in a re-match between the 2016 MLS Cup finalists. There will also be a two-week break following the match on Wednesday, July 5 against Orlando City SC to accommodate the group phase of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
