Timber Rattlers Walk-Off Snappers

APPLETON, WI - The Beloit Snappers (48-57) scored the first three runs of the game on Thursday night, but the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers scored four unanswered runs to win on a walk-off single by Felix Valerio.

The Snappers scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning. Dustin Skelton roped a double down the left-field line to drive in Thomas Jones for the first run of the game. Just two pitches later, Nic Ready hit his eighth homer of the season to put the Snappers up 3-0.

M.D. Johnson dealt again for the Snappers. Johnson went six scoreless innings before handing the ball off to Cody Mincey for the seventh. Mincey got out of the seventh without a run, but gave up two in the eighth inning. In a 3-2 game, Tyler Mitzel came out to try and finish the game for Beloit. Instead, the Timber Rattlers loaded the bases and won on a two-run single by Felix Valerio.

Beloit's Top Performers: Johnson went six innings with three hits and two walks, earning a no decision. Ready hit his eighth homer and increased his RBI total to 29.

The Snappers are on the road against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Wednesday before they are back at ABC Supply Stadium on Tuesday, September 7th against the South Bend Cubs for the final home stand of the season.
