Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers managed to cool down the red-hot Beloit Sky Carp Thursday night, winning 3-1 to take their first win of the series.
Despite the defeat, a crowd of 1,505 included jam-packed gatherings at both the Coors Light Chill Zone and Deck Deck Goose, fully enjoying a minor league baseball tradition: Thirsty Thursday.
The Sky Carp, winners of 12 of their previous 14 games, could manage just three hits on the evening.
The Carp bullpen continued its outstanding work, with Matt Givin, Justin Evans and Raul Brito combining for five scoreless frames in relief of starter Dax Fulton.
Beloit scored its only run in the seventh inning when Ynmanol Marinez singled home Nasim Nunez to make the score 3-1.
The Sky Carp and Timber Rattlers will face off in game four of their six-game series Friday night at ABC Supply Stadium. It's another Fireworks Friday, with a fantastic show following the game. It's also Shut Out Cancer Night, and we'll be raising funds all night long to support cancer patients, survivors and their families.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:35, with the gates open at 5:30.
