PHILADELPHIA - Jesse Joensuu and Sean Bentivoglio each had a goal and an assist to lift the Bridgeport Sound Tigers past the Philadelphia Phantoms 4-1 on Friday night at the Wachovia Spectrum. With the loss, the Phantoms fell seven points back of fourth-place Binghamton, which beat Hershey 5-4 in overtime.

The Sound Tigers never trailed over the course of the evening once Joensuu got his club on the board 7:49 into the contest. He took a centering pass from Mike Iggulden and pulled it around the outstretched leg of Scott Munroe before depositing it home on the backhand for the 1-0 lead.

Bentivoglio then made it 2-0 5:22 into the second period. He came down the left side and pulled the puck across the front of the goal before backhanding it past Munroe.

Philadelphia got on the board about 2 ½ minutes later on a power play. David Laliberte snapped a wrister from the left circle that beat Peter Mannino, making it a 2-1 contest with 12:10 left in the frame.

But the Phantoms would not score again. Just over a minute later, Micheal Haley restored the two-goal advantage when Bentivoglio found him open on the right post. Haley deposited it past Munroe with 10:55 left in the period. Ben Walter added a fourth goal with under five minutes to play in regulation.

Munroe took the loss with 24 saves on 28 Bridgeport shots, while Mannino stopped 15 of 16 for the win.

The Phantoms will look to rebound on Saturday night against the Providence Bruins at the Wachovia Spectrum. It's a Dollar Dog Night at the Spectrum, and kids 14 and under can skate with the players after the game. Kids must bring their own skates and sign up for the event at the information booth behind section 201.
