Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
Saskatoon, SK - Despite a great start to the game, the Medicine Hat Tigers would fall in the 1st of back to back games in Saskatchewan 8-3 to the Saskatoon Blades Tuesday Night.
Brenden Lee (Seattle, WA) would wire his 12th power play goal of the year at 14:57 in the first for his eventual 18th of the campaign from Cayden Lindstrom (Chetwynd, BC) and Andrew Basha (Calgary, AB).
The Tigers would take a 1-0 lead on the Blades outshooting them 11-3.
The 2nd period would see complete change of events for the Tigers unfortunately. Saskatoon wasted little time tying the game up at 1-1 as Brandon Lisowsky would break in for his 15th of the year and the Blades would keep coming. Tanner Molendyk would bury a late power play goal at 6:22 for a 2-1 Blades lead followed by Justin Lies on another power play for the Blades at 12:13. Saskatoon wasn't finished as Connor Roulette on another Tiger penalty would make it 4-1 after 40 minutes of play at 18:43.
Off to the final frame, the Blades would continue the onslaught of goals as Vaughn Watterodt would score his 10th of the season at 2:32 and Egor Sidorov would score on yet another Blades Power Play goal at 6:30.
Shane Smith (Cessford, AB) would cash in for the Tigers at 8:01 for his 10th of the year at 8:01 of the third thanks to Tomas Mrsic (Surrey, BC) & Owen MacNeil (Calgary, AB), back came the Blades 37 seconds later as Aidan De La Gorgendiere would score and end Tigers starter Beckett Langkow's (Vegreville, AB) night at 8:38.
The Blades would score on reliever Evan May at 11:46 as Connor Roulette would get his second of the night before Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) would close out the game with his 13th of the season at 15:18.
Medicine Hat would outshoot Saskatoon 34-27 but lose the special teams battle as the Tigers were 1/6 on the man advantage and 2/5 on the penalty kill in the loss.
The Tigers will look to turn things around quickly as they head to Prince Albert to battle the Raiders for the final time this season looking for their first win of the season against the Raiders.
Game time is 6 PM MT/ST and you can catch the broadcast on the home of the Tigers WILD 94.5 with Gino De Paoli starting with the Pre-Game Show at 5:45.
