Svozil Returns to Czechia for His Final World Juniors

Regina, Sask. - The Czechia National Junior Club announced this week that 2003-born defenceman Stanislav Svozil will take part in the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship which begins from Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Halifax, N.S., and Moncton, N.B.

Svozil, 19, will take part in his third and final World Juniors with Czechia after making his debut in 2021 as a 17-year-old where he tallied one assist in five contests and last year where he recorded three points (1G-2A) in six games. The Prerov, CZE product is in his second season with the Pats where he has scored 37 points (5G-32A) in 28 games. The 6-foot-1, 182 lb. left-shot defenceman is first amongst all WHL defencemen in assists, while tied for first in points. He also leads all skaters in power play helpers (23), is tied for first in power play points (25), and is second amongst all skaters in assists behind only Connor Bedard.

Czechia begins their tournament on December 26 against Bedard and Canada. Both Svozil and Bedard have joined their respective countries for camp ahead of the tournament.
