New Jersey Jackals News Release

(Little Falls, NJ: July 5, 2005) On Wednesday, June 29th, the first 300 fans to arrive at the New Jersey Jackals game against the North Shore Spirit were the lucky recipients of vouchers for the chance to meet baseball legend Yogi Berra. Bad weather forced the game to be called, but it wasn't enough to dampen the spirits of the Jackals' faithful, who lined up outside Yogi Berra Stadium as early 9:30am and endured periodic thunderstorms throughout the day for the opportunity to get the greatest living Yankee's autograph on all kinds of memorabilia (excluding bats and jerseys). Members of the New Jersey Lottery Commission were also on hand to give out Scratch Tickets courtesy of the New Jersey Lottery.

"The fact that so many Jackals fans would come out in any weather to pay homage to Yogi proves how much he means to us all. He's truly a beloved figure in sports and an American icon," remarked Floyd Hall, Chairman of Floyd Hall Enterprises and owner of the New Jersey Jackals.

Fans will have another chance to get Yogi's signature when the Stadium holds a second Autograph Night on August 31 when the Jackals play the Worcester Tornados at 7pm.

Baseball Legend Yogi Berra anchored the New York Yankees' dynasty from the late 1940s to early '60s, becoming a 15-time All-Star, winner of 10 world championships (most in baseball history) and three-time Most Valuable Player (no player has won more) along the way.

The New Jersey Jackals, defending league champions, are part of the Can-Am League; the Jackals play the Brockton Rox, Can-Am Grays, Elmira Pioneers, New Haven County Cutters, North Shore Spirit, Les Capitales de Quebec and Worcester (MA). The Jackals play all of their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium, 1 Hall Drive (On the Campus of Montclair State University) in Little Falls, NJ 07424.

Tickets for Jackals games are available at the box office. Fans interested in purchasing tickets should call 973-655-8035 or log onto www.jackals.com for more information.
