
Thunderbirds Mourn the Loss of Dr. Alfred Blue

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of long-time team doctor, Dr. Alfred Blue.
Dr. Blue, known as Doc Blue by the team, has been associated with Seattle hockey for over 5 decades. Beginning his career with the Seattle Totems in 1963, to the Seattle Breakers and now Seattle Thunderbirds. Dr. Blue has mended many players over the years and got them back onto the ice, having barely missed a shift.
Dr. Blue was a Plastic Surgeon, Hand Surgeon, Orthopedic Surgeon. He also had a law degree and is a practicing attorney with a specialty in medical legal cases. His selfless dedication to Seattle hockey and the Seattle players' physical and mental well-being was unparalleled.
Dr. Alfred Blue was a great Thunderbirds who set a standard for excellence that cannot be matched.
On November 14, 2017, the T-Birds honored Dr. Blue's long-time service by naming the teams medical room the "Dr. Alfred Blue Medical Room".
Ron Robison, Commissioner of the Western Hockey League, presented Dr. Blue with the WHL Distinguished Service Award prior to the team's home opener against the Vancouver Giants on Saturday, September 30, 2006.
Dr. Alfred Blue, it was a privilege being part of your tremendous career, you will be will dearly missed.
