Game 7 between the Saskatoon Blades and Red Deer Rebels gets underway tonight at SaskTel Centre with both teams looking to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Tonight

The Saskatoon Blades (7-6) return to SaskTel Centre tonight for Game 7 of their best-of-seven second-round series vs the Red Deer Rebels (7-4).

On the brink of elimination heading into Game 4, Saskatoon erased a 3-0 series deficit rattling three straight victories with a chance to go to the Eastern Conference final. The Blades won Game 6 Sunday afternoon at the Peavey Mart Centrium 5-3, improving to 4-0 when facing elimination this postseason.

Rookie netminder Austin Elliott was extraordinary between the pipes stopping 35 of 38 shots for his second playoff victory, both coming in elimination games.

It's the second straight series the Blades lace up for a do-or-die Game 7, winning Round 1 vs the Regina Pats 4-1 in front of a sold-out SaskTel Centre.

Who to Watch

Ranked 81st by NHL Central Scouting, Vitebsk, Belarus' own Egor Sidorov is taking over the series offensively. The 18-year-old sniper opened the scoring for the Blue and Gold 35-seconds into Game 6 and finished the contest with two goals and three points. Sidorov's lit the lamp four times and owns six points in his last two outings, leading the club with nine goals, six delivered on the man-advantage. The 6-foot winger has solidified himself as a top star in the league with 18 points in 13 playoff games during his second trip to the spring dance.

Alternate captain Trevor Wong scored a goal and dished a helper Sunday en route to Saskatoon's victory. The Vancouver, BC. product rides a five-game point streak with two goals and nine points during that stretch. Wong led the Blades with 86 points in 68 games during the regular season, earning him a nod to the East Division Second All-Star team. The 5-foot-9 center is atop his club for points during the playoffs as well with 19 in 13 games.

Edmonton Oilers prospect Jake Chiasson is coming through at big moments these playoffs. The 6-foot-2 power forward is tied for first in the WHL with three game-winning goals alongside Winnipeg ICE forward Matthew Savoie. Chiasson netted the game-winner in Game 6 Sunday and owns four points on his current three-game point streak. In 13 playoff games, the Abbotsford, BC. product has four goals and nine points for a total of 12 in 19 career total outings.
