The Winnipeg ICE advanced to the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference Championship Series for the second consecutive season following an 8-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors Monday night.
Conor Geekie and Connor McClennon each scored twice while Zack Ostapchuk, Vladislav Shilo, Graham Sward and Evan Friesen rounded out the scoring as Winnipeg wins the best of seven series four games to two.
The ICE had a 2-0 lead after the opening period and a 8-1 advantage through 40 minutes.
Denton Mateychuk and Jagger Firkus replied for the Warriors.
Sward led all players in the game with five shots as the ICE outshot Moose Jaw 40-27.
Daniel Hauser earned the victory in goal making 25 saves. Connor Ungar suffered the loss stopping 28 of 33 over 46:12. Jackson Unger allowed four goals on seven shots in 13:48.
Winnipeg now awaits the winner of Red Deer and Saskatoon. The Blades host the Rebels in Game Seven Tuesday night.
