LAST WEEK - Wichita closed a five-game homestand with a pair of games early in the week against Colorado. The Eagles won on Tuesday night by the final of 5-3 and grabbed a shootout win against the Thunder on Wednesday night, 2-1. Wichita jumped on a bus right after the game and hit the road to take on Utah for two games this past weekend. The Grizzlies won on Friday, 7-3, and then claimed a 5-4 shootout win against the Thunder on Saturday night.
SHOOTOUTS - Wichita was the final team in the ECHL to appear in a shootout and it took 51 games before the Thunder needed penalty shots to decide the outcome of a game. Wichita has now been in three shootouts in the last five contests, going 1-2 over that span.
MILESTONE - Ralph Cuddemi reached 100 career ECHL points this past week. He had points in all four games, including a three-point outing on Friday night. Over that span, Cuddemi has seven points (4g, 3a). Cuddemi is the first Thunder player since 2015-15 to reach 20 or more goals in a season.
ASSISTING - Chad Butcher has been a helping hand for the Thunder over the last three games. He had five assists last week, including three against Utah on Friday.
HEY ROOK - The Thunder have rookies stepping up this season. Kevin Dufour is 16th in rookie scoring with 35 points while Lane Bauer is tied for 17th with 34. Jeremy Beaudry has 29 points in 53 games. Netminder Shane Starrett is 16-9-3-0 with a 2.88 goals-against average and .915 save percentage.
POWER AND LIGHT - The Thunder power play started to come alive again last week. Wichita has scored on the man advantage in three-straight games, going 4-for-17 over that span (23.5%).
