Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, dropped both games last weekend to Kansas City, suffering a 6-3 defeat on Friday night and losing 1-0 on Saturday in Missouri. The Americans are home this weekend for Rapid City on Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday is also the 9th annual Allen Police vs. Allen Fire Charity Hockey Game.

Friday, February 23 vs. Kansas City Mavericks - 6-3 Loss
Independence, MO - The Americans blew a 3-1 second period lead, falling to the Kansas City Mavericks on Friday night 6-3. Alex Brooks first goal of the year, late in the second period, cut the Allen lead to one goal. Kansas City outscored the Americans four to nothing in the third period, cruising to a 6-3 win and ending their losing streak at eight games, handing Allen its third loss in a row.
Saturday, February 24 vs. Kansas City Mavericks -Â 1-0 Loss
Independence, MO - Jarod VanWormer's first period goal was the only puck that got by Jeremy Brodeur on Saturday night, as the Kansas City Mavericks shut out the Americans 1-0 in Missouri. Allen's loss was their fourth in a row. The Americans have dropped seven of their last eight games.
