NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - Three more wins at home last week have the South Carolina Stingrays within two points of first place in the ECHL's South Division and in striking distance from clinching a spot in the 2018 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Stingrays knocked off Norfolk on Tuesday before sweeping the Brampton Beast over the weekend in the two teams' only meetings of the season. South Carolina has been great in front of their home fans this season, now with a record of 20-5-3 (0.768) at the North Charleston Coliseum on the year which is the best home winning percentage in the division. Now with 76 points in the standings, the Stingrays' magic number to secure a spot in the playoffs is six points.

?The Rays can secure their spot in the postseason by playing well away from home this week as they travel to Cincinnati and Toledo. In their first contests against teams from the Central Division this season, South Carolina will see the Cyclones on Wednesday night before continuing on to Toledo to face the Walleye on Friday and Saturday. This weekend's meetings will be the first between SC and Toledo since the teams played a memorable 7-game series in the 2015 Eastern Conference Finals, won by the Stingrays on Joe Devin's triple-overtime game-winning tally.

Danny Federico scored with 1:56 remaining in the third period to give the South Carolina Stingrays a 3-2 win over the Norfolk Admirals on Tuesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. Forwards Dylan Margonari and Tim McGauley also scored goals for South Carolina in the victory, while goaltender Jeff Jakaitis made 30 saves to pick up his 14th win of the year.

FRIDAY: SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS 1, BRAMPTON BEAST 0

(North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston, SC)

Jeff Jakaitis stopped 32 shots and earned his 25th career ECHL shutout in a 1-0 win for the South Carolina Stingrays over the Brampton Beast on Friday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. Taylor Cammarata scored the only goal of the game on the power play in the second period as the Stingrays won their 34th game of the 2017-18 season with their fourth shutout of the year.

SATURDAY: SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS 5, BRAMPTON BEAST 1

Parker Milner stopped 45 shots and five different players scored goals as the South Carolina Stingrays completed a weekend sweep of the Brampton Beast Saturday on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Night in front of 7,497 fans at the North Charleston Coliseum. Four Stingrays skaters had multi-point efforts in the game including team captain Joe Devin, who had a goal and an assist to reach a new career-high in scoring with 43 points on the season. Tim McGauley and Paul Geiger also had a goal and an assist, while Steven Whitney added two assists.

DEVIN SETS NEW CAREER-HIGH

Captain Joe Devin had three points in the Stingrays' three games last week to reach a new career-high in scoring this season with 43 points on 15 goals and 28 assists. The team's leading scorer matched his previous career-best of 41 points with an assist on Tuesday in his 50th game of the year. He then scored a goal and an assist Saturday in South Carolina's 5-1 win over Brampton. Devin's 28 assists have also established a new individual high point, while his 15 goals are three behind his mark of 18 during the 2015-16 ECHL regular season, in which he dressed for 55 games.

JAKAITIS MATCHES ECHL SHUTOUT RECORD

Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis led the Stingrays to a victory with his 25th career ECHL shutout on Friday night, making 32 saves to secure a 1-0 win. The Rochester, Minn. native tied Marc Magliarditi for the league's all-time mark in shutouts with his second of the season and 13th as a member of the Stingrays. Jakaitis now has a goals-against average of 2.08 on the season which is tied for third in the ECHL. His save percentage of 0.922 is fifth-best in the league.

MCGAULEY STAYS HOT

Forward Tim McGauley had a goal and an assist in Saturday's win over Brampton to continue his hot stretch during the month of February. He now has secured eight points on three goals and five assists in his last seven games. McGauley is now third on the Stingrays in scoring this season with a total of 36 points on 13 goals and 23 assists this season.

MILNER'S 45 SAVES SECURE 6TH STRAIGHT WIN

Goaltender Parker Milner won his sixth straight start for South Carolina on Saturday, making a season-high 45 saves while holding Brampton to just one goal. He now has 18 wins in 24 appearances this year and his most recent performance lowered his goals-against average to 1.98 on the season which is the best mark in the ECHL. Milner also ranks third in the league in save percentage (0.929).
