THUNDER SNAG ONE - After a great stretch of earning at least a point in six of their last seven games, Wichita mustered just one point this past weekend. On Friday, Quad City flew into town and hustled their way to a 3-1 win. The Mallards scored early in the contest as Brett Robinson's first of two came three minutes into the game. Greger Hanson tied it at one in the second period with a slap shot from the slot. However, the Mallards re-gained the lead on Robinson's second of the game and added an insurance goal in the third period. It was the first time the Thunder had lost on home-ice and in regulation to Quad City in their 12 meetings all-time. The next night saw the Arizona Sundogs drop by for a brief one-game visit. Led by former Thunder goalie Adam Russo, Arizona escaped with a 2-1 win in a shoot-out.

FIRST DOWN- Despite losing in a shootout on Saturday night, Wichita was able to score first when Neil Trimm put in his eighth goal of the season. It was the first time in five games that the Thunder were able to score the first goal of the game. When scoring first, Wichita is 2-1-1.

LEADERBOARD- Wichita continues to feature four-of- the-top ten in the scoring department even though they scored two goals last weekend. Hanson is tied in fifth with 17 points (6g, 11a). Trimm (8g, 8a) and Chad Painchaud (3g, 13a) are tied in eighth place with 16 points and Matt Summers is tied in 10th place with 15 points (5g, 10).

BACK STOP- Kevin Regan stopped 20 shots on Saturday night in the 2-1 shootout loss to Arizona and continues to hover near the top of the goaltender leaderboard. He is in third in goals-against average (2.42), second in minutes played (545:56) and tied in fourth for saves (205).

LETTING IT FLY- Wichita has outshot their opponents in 10 of their 13 games this season. Unfortunately, the Thunder are just 3-5-2 when they out shoot the other team. Wichita is fourth in the league in shots for per game (33.46) and leads the league in shots against per game (26.77)

MILESTONES- RG Flath is approaching two big milestones for his career. He is just 9 goals shy of reaching 100 as a pro and just one assist shy of reaching 100 in that category. The Park City, UT native has 12 points so far this season (4g, 8a).
