Boo-yah for Booras: Jon Booras's second-period goal in Saturday's home win over Quad City was his 400th professional point. He added an assist later on the game-winning goal to push the eighth-year pro's point total to 401. Booras has played in a Bloomington sweater in all but 12 of his 421 professional games. The Billings, Montana native leads the Central Hockey League in scoring with 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists).
Extra-special teams: The Blaze continue to operate the CHL's most successful power play, scoring 30.2 percent of the time. Their 16 power play goals is second only to Allen. The Blaze have scored on the power play in 10 of their 12 games this season. Jesse Dudas leads the league with four power play tallies.
Dudas doing it: Jesse Dudas continues to lead all Central Hockey League defensemen with eight goals. Dudas is second in scoring among blueliners with 15 points, and he has scored a point in all but three games.
Streaking: David Gilbert ended an eight-game point streak on Saturday, and Tyler Gron's seven-game point streak also ended that night. Gilbert's streak is the team's longest this season. Nicklas Lindberg owns the longest current Blaze streak at six games.
Blaze anatomy: The Blaze activated defenseman Michael Trebish from the 7-day IR last weekend but placed veteran D-man Ryan Palmer on the 7-day IR. Both Blaze goaltenders who began the season are now out with lower body injuries, as Pier-Olivier Pellitier sustained an injury in practice early last week and Dan Dunn left Saturday's game in the second period. The Blaze signed netminders Gerry Festa and Nick Niedert, both of whom have CHL experience. Festa earned the win on Saturday night.
Junior Blaze update : The Junior Blaze gained three out of a possible six points by going 1-1-1 against the Holland River Bandits last weekend in Michigan.
