LAST WEEKEND - Wichita returned home after a five-game road trip and hosted the Tulsa Oilers for two-straight. The Oilers claimed a 3-2 win on Friday night, jumping out to a three-goal lead in the first period. The Thunder climbed back into the game behind two goals from Louick Marcotte, but couldn't get over the hump. On Saturday, Wichita led 1-0 into the third before the teams traded goals. Gabriel Gagne and Drew Owsley helped the Thunder to a 3-2 shootout victory.
ROAD LESS TRAVELED - Wichita heads out of town today for a five-game road trip. This is the second five-game road trip over the last three weeks.
GAGS - Gabriel Gagne returned from Binghamton and made an impact this past Saturday night. He scored a power play goal in the first and netted the game-winner in the shootout. The rookie forward from Laval, Quebec has three goals in his last three games with the Thunder.
CAREER HIGH - Louick Marcotte added an assist on Saturday night, giving him 30 points on the year and a new career-high in that category after tallying 29 last season in Adirondack. He has five points (2g, 3a) in his last three games including two multi-point outings over that stretch.
11 TIMES - Blake Tatchell grabbed another assist on Saturday, giving him points in three-straight games (1g, 2a). He has 11 points (4g, 7a) in his last 10 games.
MILESTONES - Ian Lowe continues to move up the all-time leader board in franchise history. He appeared in his 310th game on Saturday and needs one more to tie Sean O'Reilly for third place all-time in games played.
SECONDS - Wichita appeared in just its second shootout of the season on Saturday night. Both have come against the Tulsa Oilers. The Thunder improved to 1-1 in shootout situations with the win.
STREAKS OVER - Wichita snapped a few skids on Saturday night. The Thunder stopped a seven-game home losing streak and a four-game skid. Also, the Thunder power play recorded their first goal since February 18th, which was a span of eight games.
THUNDERBOLTS... Vincent Arseneau is tied for second with five shorthanded points and tied for first with four shorthanded goals...Wichita is fourth in the league in shorthanded goals (11)...Wichita is sixth in the league in penalty minutes per game (17.71)...Wichita is 12-2-2-1 when leading after two...Wichita is 6-10-1-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 8-9-2-0 when outshooting its opponent...
