Eagles Receive Nantel from Rampage, Sdao Called Up to Iowa

WINDSOR, CO. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced Wednesday that forward Julien Nantel has been assigned to the Eagles by the team's AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. In a separate transaction, defenseman Michael Sdao has been called up to the Iowa Wild of the AHL.

Nantel was a seventh round selection of the Avalanche in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot, 195-pound rookie has appeared in 52 games this season with San Antonio, registering five goals and three assists. The 20 year-old spent five seasons in the QMJHL with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies where he netted 63 goals and 79 assists in 188 contests. Nantel helped lead the Huskies to a QMJHL Championship during the 2015-16 season, posting 22 goals and 24 assists in 52 games.

Sdao has collected nine goals, four assists and 140 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Eagles this season. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound native of Niwot, Colorado spent the previous three seasons in the AHL with the Binghamton Senators and Rochester Americans, generating 22 points and 336 penalty minutes, while playing at a cumulative plus-11 in 135 games.

The Eagles return to action when they take on the Alaska Aces on Wednesday, March 8th at 7:05pm MT at the Budweiser Events Center.
