Thunder Takes Three of Six Points

THUNDER STOP LUBBOCK IN SHOOTOUT- Trevor Allman's first game back from injured reserve was a memorable one, as he scored the game-winning goal in the final round of the shootout, giving the Thunder a 3-2 victory over Lubbock. Travis Clayton scored both regulation goals for the Thunder, while goaltender Nathan Grobins earned the victory, making 29 saves, plus four in the shootout.

JACKS' NIP THUNDER IN PHYSICAL GAME- Scott Green tied things up midway through the third period and Odessa outscored the Thunder 2-0 in the shootout, coming away with a 4-3 victory Saturday night. Anders Strome led the Thunder with a pair of goals, while Darryl Green also scored for Wichita. The two teams, meeting for only the fifth time ever, combined for 71 shots on goal, 100 penalty minutes and three player ejections. Rookie Tye Korbl picked up the game misconduct for the Thunder.

ICE BATS SHUT OUT THUNDER- Goaltender Jonathan Forest stopped all 29 Thunder shots, leading Austin to a 5-0 shutout victory on Sunday afternoon. Kelly Smart led the Ice Bats with a hat trick and an assist, while Tab Lardner also added four points. Austin remained a perfect 3-0 all-time versus Wichita. In the three seasons since the CHL-WPHL merger, Austin has never played in Wichita.

STROME TAKES OVER ROOKIE SCORING LEAD- Anders Strome had two goals over the weekend, moving him past Corpus Christi's Ed McGrane for the CHL rookie scoring lead. McGrane has 21 points, and was called up to the AHL's Houston Aeros over the weekend. With 23 points, Strome ranks 17th overall in the CHL.

LEITER CLOSES IN ON O'REILLY- With a fighting major on Friday night, Jeff Leiter surpassed Greg Neish for second place on the all-time Thunder penalty minute list, with 878. Leiter now trails only Sean O'Reilly for the franchise record of 926. In his fifth season with the Thunder, Leiter is the club's all-time leader with 64 major penalties.

THUNDERBOLTS- With 194, Travis Clayton trails Jason Duda by one goal, for the most in franchise history...Clayton is already the franchise leader in games played, assists, points, PP goals, SH goals, GW goals and SO goals...Duda may be activated from injured reserve this weekend...Goaltender Nathan Grobins is three victories shy of 100 for his pro career...The Thunder are third in the CHL in both major penalties (34) and penalty minutes per game (28.91)...The Thunder rank second in the CHL with four shorthanded goals...Wichita is still second in the CHL, allowing just 28.5 shots per game...Injured rookie Ryan Olynyk is still second in the CHL with 13 majors...Olynyk will return from IR on Tuesday, December 16th at Oklahoma City.
