
Thunder Stunned by Rage

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder lost 3-2 to the Rocky Mountain Rage on Friday night at the Kansas Coliseum. Rocky Mountain erased a 2-0 third period Thunder lead, scoring three consecutive goals in a span of 5:48.
Joel Hanson gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead, scoring just 54 seconds into the contest. Marc Belanger scored his first natural goal as a member of the Thunder, connecting on a rebound at 3:27 in the third.
Rage forward Scott Wray cut into the Thunder lead, scoring on a rebound at 7:11. Colt King tied the game, also on a rebound at 12:42. The Rage took their first lead of the night on Wray's second goal at 12:59.
Jason Tessier picked up two assists. Krister Toews saved 32 of 35 in the loss. The Thunder scored on the power play for the fourth consecutive game.
Wichita next plays tomorrow night when they host the Tulsa Oilers at 7:05 p.m. The Thunder will host its annual "Love on Ice Mass Wedding", sponsored by Hajoca and T-95. For tickets, call the Thunder office at (316) 264-GOAL.
