New Mexico Scorpions News Release

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-Laredo ended the Scorpions three-game winning streak with a 3-1 victory on Friday night. All four of the game's goals were scored on odd man situations.

After a scoreless first period, power play goals ruled the second. Torren Delforte stuffed home his 17th goal of the season making it 1-0.

Laredo was given back-to-back two-man advantages near the midway point of the middle frame. Darryl Smith tied the game as his shot from the bottom of the circle found the back of the net.

Controversy struck at the 14:44 mark as Serge Dube appeared to kick at the puck twice as it headed into the net. The call on the ice stood after no discussion among the officials.

The whistles slowed down in the third period and nobody was sent to the sin bin. Alex Goupil nailed down the victory for the Bucks with an empty net goal at the 19:01 mark.

Valentine's Day is Pink in the Rink Night, brought to you by Bank of Albuquerque to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The game against Laredo starts at 7:15 p.m.

Group tickets specials are available for as little as 10 people. Call the Scorpions' office at (505) 881-PUCK (7825) or visit www.scorpionshockey.com to find out more information about your professional hockey team. The Scorpions have been named the 2008 Rio Rancho Rotary Business of the Year.
