Trenton Thunder News Release
Binghamton, NY- Brahiam Maldonado's solo home run in the sixth inning was the difference in a 1-0 Binghamton win over the Thunder on Friday night at NYSEG Stadium. With the loss, the Thunder fall to 40-25 on the year.
Both starting pitchers kept the hitters off balance throughout the night. Thunder RHP Hector Noesi (3-1) threw seven innings and allowed six hits, while striking out five, but served up the sixth inning blast by Maldonado, as Trenton fell behind 1-0.
Binghamton RHP Chris Schwinden (2-4), who suffered the loss five days earlier against the Thunder at Waterfront Park, allowed seven hits and struck out five over 6 1/3 innings pitched. Pitchers Derek Ellison, Emaury Frederick and Manuel Alvarez did not allow a hit against Trenton over the final 2 1/3 innings.
For Trenton, Luis Nunez went 1-for-3 with a double. He was the only Thunder hitter with more than one hit.
Trenton and Binghamton will play the middle game of their series on Saturday at 7:05 PM. RHP Cory Arbiso makes the start for Trenton, while the B-Mets counter with RHP Scot Shaw.
