GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - The Manchester Monarchs allowed seven goals in the first two periods, en route to a 10-4 drubbing by the Adirondack Thunder on Sunday afternoon at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

With the loss, the Thunder (26-14-4-3) ended their four-game losing streak to the Monarchs (29-12-4-4).

The Thunder took an early lead when Dennis Kravchenko scored his 8th goal of the season at 2:38 of the opening period. Kravchenko fired a wrister from the left half-boards after a puck battle in the corner and beat Monarchs goaltender, Jonah Imoo, to give Adirondack the early, 1-0, lead.

Adirondack added to their lead when Mikkel Aagaard scored his 4th goal of the season at 4:44 of the first period. Aagaard took a pass in the slot from Kevin Lough, and sent a wrister over the glove of Imoo, doubling the Thunder lead to, 2-0.

Kravchenko added his second goal of the game when he made it a 3-0 score at 19:35 of the first period while on the power play. A blocked shot from the stick of Peter MacArthur caromed off Connor Hardowa in the slot and bounced directly to Kravchenko just inside the right dot, where he sent the puck into an open net.

The Thunder continued their offensive outburst when Greg Wolfe netted a power-play goal, his 13th of the season, at 1:10 of the second period. Wolfe took a pass from Aagaard in the slot and ripped a wrister over the blocker of Imoo to make the score, 4-0, Thunder.

Manchester got on the board when Ashton Rome scored his 6th goal of the season at 2:13 of the middle frame. Rome took a drop pass in the slot by Derek Arnold from behind the net, and lifted the puck over the glove of Thunder goaltender, Drew Fielding, to cut the Adirondack lead to 4-1.

James Henry put the Thunder back up by four when he scored his 11th goal of the year at 4:19 of the second period. Henry was sent in on a breakaway by Gunnar Hughes and sent a wrister over the glove of Imoo, to make the score, 5-1, Adirondack.

The Monarchs cut into the lead when Kevin Morris scored his 12th goal of the season at 6:47 of the second stanza. Morris found the rebound of a Gasper Kopitar shot and stuffed the puck home through the pads of Fielding, cutting the Thunder lead to 5-2.

Zac Lynch inched the Monarchs closer when he scored his 12th goal of the season at 9:26 while on the power play. The puck found its way onto Lynch's stick in the slot after a misfire by Joey Diamond, where he made no mistake and roofed the puck past the glove of Fielding to make the score, 5-3, Thunder.

Adirondack stopped the Manchester momentum when Stepan Falkovsky scored his 14th goal of the season at 13:42 while on a 5-on-3 power play. The Thunder defenseman stepped into a one-timer from the top of the right circle and blasted a shot past the glove of Imoo to put the Thunder up, 6-3.

Just 15 seconds later, Falkovsky did it again from basically the same spot. This time, Falkovsky sent a wrister through the five-hole of Imoo from the top of the right circle, and pushed the Thunder lead to 7-3 while chasing Imoo from the game.

Derek Arnold ended the scoring in the wild second period when he netted his 11th goal of the season at 18:27 while on a 5-on-3 power play. Arnold found the loose puck to the right of Fielding after a shot from Matt Leitner was redirected, and Arnold sent the puck into the open net to make the score, 7-4, heading into the third period.

Aagaard scored his scored his second goal of the night just 1:18 into the third period when he tipped home a shot from the slot. Wolfe sent a saucer pass to a streaking Aagaard who beat new Monarchs goaltender, Sam Brittain, to make the score, 8-4, Thunder.

The Thunder continued to pour it on when Wolfe scored his second marker of the night at 3:21 of the final frame. Wolfe took a cross-ice pass from Aagaard at the right dot, toe-dragged to shed a defender and sent a wrister past the blocker of Brittain to give Adirondack a 9-3 advantage.

Peter MacArthur put a stamp on the game when he scored his 13th goal of the season at 5:49 of the third period. While on a power play, MacArthur walked to the top of the left circle and beat Brittain short-side with a wrister, ending the scoring at 10-4.

The Monarchs return to the ice Thursday, Feb. 16 (7 p.m.), when they meet the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for the first and only time this season at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
