WHERE WE STAND
The Monarchs (66 pts.) remain atop the North Division, now seven points clear of the Reading Royals and nine points ahead of the Thunder. The Monarchs gained a point last night on Eastern Conference leading Florida last night, and are now three points out of the top spot in the Conference.
HISTORY!
With their win last night, the Monarchs set a new franchise record with their 15th consecutive home game with a point, dating back to Dec. 3. The 2016-17 squad now sits alone in the record books, passing the 2004-05 and 2006-07 teams.
DRIVE FOR FIVE
The Monarchs have taken the last four meetings with the Thunder, and look to extend their winning streak against their bitter rivals to five games tonight. In the past four head-to-head matchups, the Monarchs have outscored the Thunder, 21-14, and have split their victories, two at home and two on the road.
SURPRISING BUT TRUE
Last night's 3-2 victory was something the SNHU Arena crowd hasn't seen all season. Entering Pink in the Rink, the Monarchs were 0-2-0-1 when scoring three goals this season at home, and 1-5-1-2 overall when only lighting the lamp three times. On the season, the Monarchs are now 3-11-3-2 when scoring three or fewer goals, but a staggering 26-0-1-2 when scoring four or more.
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS
The Monarchs have been very good in close games this season, and have taken points out of almost every one-goal game they have faced. Entering tonight, the Monarchs boast a 10-2-4-4 record in one goal games, tied for the fewest regulation losses in the ECHL.
