Thunder Receive Escobedo from Bridgeport Defenseman Sean Escobedo returns to the Thunder for his second stint in the ECHL this season.

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have been assigned defenseman Sean Escobedo from Bridgeport, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm announced Tuesday.

Escobedo returns to the west coast for his second stint with the Thunder this season. He was one of four Sound Tigers players assigned to the Thunder at the same time before the start of the regular season. In 8 ECHL games, Escobedo tallied 3 points off 3 assists and was also a +3 before being recalled to the AHL on November 15th.

The 23-year-old from Bayside, NY appeared in one game for the Sound Tigers on November 16th against the Hartford Wolf Pack, picking up 2 penalty minutes in his AHL debut, before being sidelined by injury. Escobedo played the previous four years at Boston University where he was teammates with current Thunder players Corey Trivino and Ben Rosen.
