Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo Wings vs Cincinnati Cyclones

For the second straight season and the third time in past five years, the Kalamazoo Wings and Cincinnati Cyclones will ring in the New Year against one another. On the season, the K-Wings are 3-2-0-1 versus the Cyclones, which includes a record of 1-2-0-1 at Wings Stadium.

The K-Wings are looking to end 2013 on a high-note. Kalamazoo enters this evening with losses in back-to-back games. Tonight is the 12th Annual New Year's Eve Bash. Kalamazoo is 6-3-0-2 during the bash, including victories in each of the past three seasons.

No team in the ECHL has been playing better than the Cyclones. Since losing in overtime to Kalamazoo on December 17th, Cincinnati has won four in a row. In fact, the Cyclones enter tonight looking to extend a seven-game (6-0-1-0) unbeaten streak in regulation.

Slappy New Year

For the second straight year and for the third time in the past five years, the K-Wings will host the Cyclones during the annual New Year's Eve Bash. Kalamazoo is 6-3-0-2 all-time in the yearly classic, 1-1-0-0 versus Cincinnati and 3-1-0-0 since joining the ECHL, which includes three straight victories in New Year's Eve contests.

Homeward Bound The K-Wings will begin a three-game home stand this evening. On the season, Kalamazoo is 6-6-0-2 at home and is 1-3-0-1 in their last five games at Wings Stadium.

Powering Up

Entering tonight, Kalamazoo's power-play is 4-for-23 (17%) against Cincinnati. Overall the K-Wings have netted 13 power-play goals on the season, which means Kalamazoo has earned 30.8% of their man-advantage goals this season against Cincinnati.
