Thunder Offense Keeps Rolling

THUNDER TAKE TWO OF FOUR POINTS ON ROAD- The Thunder lost a pair of road games in New Mexico and Colorado, but picked up a point in each game, losing both 6-5 in a shootout. Veteran Mark Kolesar led the Thunder in New Mexico with three points, while rookie Anders Strome recorded his first pro hat trick in Colorado.

THUNDER COMEBACK FALLS SHORT VERSUS BRAHMAS- Goals by Jerry Cunningham and Adam Calder brought the Thunder back from a 3-1 deficit, however; the Brahmas scored a late power play goal and added an empty-netter to win 5-3 on Friday at the Kansas Coliseum. Defenseman Peter Runkel led the Thunder with a pair of assists, as Wichita outshot Fort Worth 38-23.

THUNDER COMEBACK FALLS SHORT...PART 2- Trailing 4-1 in the third period, the Thunder got goals from Anders Strome and Mark Kolesar, before Colorado goaltender Ryan Bach robbed Travis Clayton with a minute remaining to seal a 4-3 Eagles victory. Kolesar and Duda led the Thunder with three points each, as the Thunder again outshot their opponent 32-17.

OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION CONTINUES- Despite a tough week, the Thunder piled up 16 goals in four games, led by Kolesar's eight points. Kolesar is now tied with Memphis' Don Parsons for first in the CHL, with 16 points. Veteran Jason Duda is right behind them with 15 points. Clayton sits eleventh with 13 points. The Thunder rank second in the CHL, averaging 3.70 goals per game and lead the CHL with 13 power play goals.

CHL'S TOP ROOKIES IN WICHITA- With a total of seven goals and 12 points last week, Thunder rookies Anders Strome and Peter Runkel now rank 1-2 in scoring among all CHL rookies. Strome leads the way with 12 points, good for 13th in overall CHL scoring and also leads the entire CHL with four power play goals. Runkel has 10 points in just eight games and is fourth among all CHL defensemen. Rookie enforcer Ryan Olynyk leads the CHL with eight major penalties and ranks third overall with 62 penalty minutes.

THUNDERBOLTS- The Thunder lead the CHL in fewest shots allowed, at just 25.7 per game...Wichita ranks fifth in the CHL, averaging 33.6 shots per game...The Thunder have allowed a CHL-high 4.00 goals per game...Jason Duda has played in 222 straight games, the longest active streak in the CHL...Both Duda and Travis Clayton are riding the CHL's longest current scoring streak in the CHL, at nine games...Clayton also has an assist in eight straight games, the longest streak in the CHL this season...Adam Calder is third in the CHL with 53 shots on goals...Injured defenseman Chad Mazurak will have his ankle examined today by a specialist...Although three points behind first place Oklahoma City, the Thunder still have three games in hand.
