
Thunder Lineup Explodes For 13 Runs In Win

Manchester, NH- The Thunder had a hit parade in the series finale with the Fisher Cats on Wednesday, scoring 13 runs in a 13-3 victory in Manchester, NH. With the win, Trenton improves to 8-5 on the season.
The Thunder took their first lead in the series in the top of the first inning. With one out, David Adams and Austin Romine hit back-to-back singles to put runners at first and second base. After a Brandon Laird pop-out, Damon Sublett singled up the middle to score Adams, and the Thunder were on top 1-0.
Trenton came out swinging in the top of the fifth inning off New Hampshire starter Randy Boone. Kevin Smith led off the inning with a double, and came around to score on a RBI single to center by Daniel Brewer. Following a Justin Snyder strikeout, Austin Krum knocked in Brewer to make it 3-0, and after David Adams and Austin Romine reached base without a hit, Brandon Laird smacked a double down the left field line to score both runners to make it 5-0. Damon Sublett followed with another double to plate Laird.
Trenton would get seven more runs in the eighth and ninth innings, highlighted by a David Adams grand slam in the top of the ninth to pad the Thunder lead.
Grant Duff came into to pitch the ninth for Trenton, and after giving up a home run to Eric Thames, struck out the side to close out the victory for the Thunder.
David Phelps pitched 6 innings, giving up just 4 hits and striking out 6.
The Thunder head home for a four game series with the Portland Sea Dogs starting on Thursday at 7:05 PM. RHP Lance Pendleton makes the start for Trenton, while RHP Eamon Portice goes for Portland.
