
29 Top 10 Prospects In The EL This Season

(Trenton, NJ) Baseball fans from all around New Jersey, New York and Eastern Pennsylvania should note that 29 of the brightest prospects in all of Minor League Baseball are currently calling the Eastern League home and could be visiting Waterfront Park, home of the Trenton Thunder, Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, this season.
Each year, national baseball publication, Baseball America, releases lists of the top 10 prospects in each Major League organization. Currently, 29 of those prospects are on the rosters of Eastern League teams, including two on the Trenton Thunder. The Thunder have New York Yankee number two ranked prospect, C Austin Romine and number nine ranked prospect, RHP Jeremy Bleich.
Three of the number one ranked prospects in their organizations are currently in the Eastern League. Number one rated prospect in all of Minor League Baseball, Stephen Strasburg, of the Washington Nationals is with Harrisburg, Philadelphia Phillies top prospect, Domonic Brown, is with Reading and Toronto Blue Jays number one prospect, Zach Stewert, is with New Hampshire.
The next opponent to visit Waterfront Park, the Portland Sea Dogs, boast four players listed in the Boston Red Sox top 10 prospect ranking. The Sea Dogs will visit Trenton for a four game series beginning on Thursday, April 22 at 7:05 pm.
