
Thunder End Series with a Bang; Complete Sweep

Trenton, NJ- The Thunder completed a four-game sweep of Harrisburg with a 5-2 win on Sunday Night with an Independence Day crowd of 6,894 on hand. Hector Noesi tossed seven innings and newcomer Jack Rye added two hits in the win. The Thunder (51-31) will remain 2.5 games ahead in first place in the Eastern League Eastern Division.
RHP Hector Noesi began his ninth start for Trenton by allowing one hit through the first four innings. Marvin Lowrance walked in the top of the fifth inning and moved to third on a ground out by Jesus Valdez and scored on an RBI single by Tim Pahuta to give Harrisburg a 1-0 lead.
Noesi (6-1) tossed seven innings and allowed one run on four hits in the win. RHP J.B. Cox pitched the final to innings to finish the game.
Trenton took the lead in the last of the fifth with two straight doubles by Jack Rye and Edwar Gonzalez off LHP Tom Milone. After Gonzalez moved to third base on a balk from Milone, Luis Nunez drove the runner in on a sacrifice fly to left field, giving Trenton a 2-1 advantage.
The Thunder went ahead 3-1 in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Justin Snyder that scored Marcos Vechionacci. In the seventh inning, Trenton led off the frame with three straight hits, and Vechionacci hit a two-run single to center field to increase the lead to 5-1.
Trenton travels to Akron on Monday night to start a four game set with the Akron Aeros at 7:05 PM. RHP Andrew Brackman will make his third start for the Thunder, and Akron will give the ball to RHP Alex White.
