
Thunder beats Tulsa in shootout, 2-1

Wichita, KS- The Wichita Thunder edged the Tulsa Oilers 2-1 in a shootout on Friday night in a CHL exhibition game played at the Wichita Ice Center.
After a scoreless first period, the Thunder got on the board late in the second on a goal by Dustin Donaghy. The score stayed that way until the latter part of the third period when Matt Robertson tied things up at 1-1. Thunder goaltender Adam Russo (35) and Tulsa goaltender Ian Keserich (40) shut the door the rest of the third period, combining to stop 75 shots in the game.
The two teams went straight to the shootout with Robin Richards giving Wichita the early lead with a first round goal. Tulsa tied the shootout in the second round on a goal by Jay Sprague before Justin Sawyer scored the game-winner with a pretty fourth round goal.
Wichita will host Tulsa again on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at the Wichita Ice Center. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Thunder office.
