
Thunder Bats Quiet In 4-1 Loss

(Trenton, NJ)- Home runs by Brandon Larson and Frank Diaz, along with 5 2/3 shutout innings from starter Jim Magrane, led Harrisburg to a 4-1 win over the Thunder on Friday night. The loss is the third straight for the Thunder (24-13).
Harrisburg (11-28) scored their runs early off Trenton starter Jason Jones. 3B Brandon Larson took a 3-2 pitch over the centerfield wall for a 1-0 lead. It was Larson's 2nd home run of the year. CF Frank Diaz then added a two-run homer in the 3rd Inning for a 3-0 lead. Jones (3-2) took the loss allowing three runs over five innings with two walks and four strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Senators starter Jim Magrane, carrying a 7.25 ERA into the game, held the Thunder without a run over 5 2/3 innings for the win. He scattered three singles with three walks and five strikeouts. Trenton broke up the shutout bid in the 9th Inning, but Josh Hall worked the final 3 1/3 innings to record his first save.
The series continues on Saturday at 7:05 PM. Trenton will send Tim Lavigne to the mound in his Thunder debut against LHP Justin Jones for Harrisburg, just recalled from Columbus (AAA).
