
Details Unveiled For Officer Briggs/Officer McKay Fundraiser May 21

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats will honor fallen Manchester Police Officer Michael Briggs by retiring the uniform number 83 during a pre-game ceremony on Monday night, May 21. A portion of the evening's ticket sales combined with monies raised during a silent auction of game worn jerseys and the sale of specially-designed hats and t-shirts commemorating the evening will go toward the following organizations in Officer Briggs' name:
*Bruce McKay Family Fund in honor of Franconia Police Officer Bruce McKay, who was killed in the line of duty on May 11
*Manchester Police Athletic League
*Veterans Count, a program facilitated by Easter Seals in cooperation with local military and veterans groups
Special guests in attendance include Governor John Lynch, Attorney General Kelly Ayotte, Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta, Manchester Police Chief John Jaskolka, Laura Briggs and her sons, the parents and sisters of Officer Briggs, the men and women of the Manchester Police Department and the recipient of the Michael Briggs Good Samaritan Award.
"It is our privilege to honor the memories of Officers Briggs and McKay," said Fisher Cats President/General Manger Rick Brenner. "The Michael Briggs Good Samaritan Award will allow us to give something back to the community in his name on an annual basis."
The pre-game ceremony will include the Fisher Cats unveiling the retired uniform number 83 on the outfield wall, the inaugural presentation of the Michael Briggs Good Samaritan Award, the NHPA Pipes and Drums, Hillsborough County Color Guard, NHSP Honor Guard, MPD holding the American flag, MPD mounted unit on the warning track, MPD Bike Officers, MPD K-9 Demo on concourse, Crimeline/McGruff information tables on concourse, MPAL information table on concourse, and replica MPD jersey silent auction through the seventh inning.
