Thunder announces broadcast partner

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder today announced Sportsradio 1410 AM KGSO as their new radio home for the 2006-07 season.

KGSO will carry 27 games live this season in a "Game of the Week" format, though some weeks will feature more than one game. The first broadcast will take place on Saturday, October 21st versus the Oklahoma City Blazers. For the third straight season Thunder Director of Broadcasting Jason Mals will handle the play-by-play duties.

"Sportsradio 1410 KGSO is a locally owned and operated sports station and we are excited at the opportunity to partner with the Wichita Thunder", said KGSO Operations Manager Joel Navarro. "Wichita has come to the table to support the Thunder and KGSO is ecstatic to be a part of such a tremendous opportunity."

Throughout the season fans will also be able to follow the Wichita Thunder on the weekly show "The Game Plan" with Chris Allison from 6:00-9:00 a.m. "The Game Plan" will feature promos of upcoming games, news about the team and live guests every week.

"We are very happy that KGSO was the one station so interested in carrying our games this season", said Mals. "This is a tough market to find a broadcast partner and KGSO was by far our top choice."

Fans can also listen to all 64 games via webcast, thru either www.KGSO.com or www.wichitathunder.com. All games will once again feature a pregame show, as well the Money Shack postgame show.
