Chamount, 6'0" 200 pounds, played 28 games for Dalhousie and led the team with 12 goals and 23 points in 2005-06.
"He is a proven goal scorer," said Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski. "His last two years of major junior hockey he scored 31 goals each season. Bobby has good size and great hands. He was one of my priority guys that I wanted to get this off season. I am very happy that I got him signed to a contract."
Chaumont, a native of Sudbury, Ontario, played four years of major junior hockey with his hometown Sudbury Wolves in the Ontario Hockey League.
"I am very excited about coming to Laredo," said Chaumont. "I wanted to pursue a pro career last year, but I thought it would be better to give school a try. Now I have tried school and I can pursue my pro career and hopefully one day get to a higher level."
Chaumont never missed a contest in four seasons and his string of 272 straight games played with Sudbury is the longest in OHL history eclipsing the previous record of 266. In his junior career he totaled 109 goals and 213 career points. He led the Wolves in goals in each of his four seasons.
