Voting Open for 2014-15 ECHL Fantasy Team

The ECHL is giving fans the opportunity to vote for players to comprise the 2014-15 Fantasy Team, of which, one player from each Member Team will be selected to wear a special ECHL Fantasy Team jersey at an upcoming home game.

The Thunder have preselected three players, Garet Hunt, Tyler Maxwell and Jack MacLellan to appear on the team's ballot while fans have the opportunity to also write-in a selection of their choice. The top vote-getter on the Thunder will wear a special fantasy team jersey on Saturday, March 14 when the Thunder play the Idaho Steelheads.

Voting is now open on ECHL.com . Fans are limited to one ballot during the voting period, which runs until 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 23. Fans can vote for up to one player on each ECHL Member Team's ballot before hitting the "Cast Vote" button at the bottom of the voting page. The results of the Fantasy Team voting will be announced the week of Feb. 23.

Last Time vs. Colorado

It all began 7:40 into the game when J.T. Barnett found Garet Hunt loose in the high slot and the captain ripped a shot past Doug Carr for the lead, however moments later with the Eagles on the power play, Taylor Vause sauced a pass to the front of the net that was deflected in by Chris Knowlton.

Tyler Maxwell would score next after he found a loose puck rolling around Carr but a shorthanded tally from Vause again tied things up.

The Thunder repaid the favor when James Henry found Keith Seabrook who blasted a wrister over Carr for a lead the Thunder wouldn't relinquish.

The captain added the empty netter to seal the 4-2 win.

Tonight

It could very well be the final ever meeting between the Stockton Thunder and Colorado Eagles with the move for Stockton to the AHL next year will put the team's in two different leagues next year. The Thunder are trying to get their third-straight win, something that hasn't occurred since the Thunder beat the Bakersfield Condors in three-straight games back on November 20 and carried through to November 23.

The Eagles meanwhile, are trying their best to not drop a third game in-a-row. The team last lost three-straight to begin 2015 and for the top Pacific Division leading team it hasn't happened often. While the team is missing key contributors like Collin Bowman, Brett Kulak and Trent Daavettila, it doesn't take away the fact that the Thunder have beaten them in consecutive games.

Who to Watch

While easy money may be on the Vinny Scarsella, Tyler Maxwell and Tyler Shattock line, we have to give credit to another line today and certainly include a couple men to watch.

The line of J.T. Barnett, James Henry and captain Garet Hunt have also been pretty great as of late. The trio, who actually developed from the Vancouver Giants of the WHL, have lived up to their junior team's name recently as they have been giants on the ice.

Certainly the scoring has been there. This month has seen the three have combined for 8 goals and 8 assists in addition to their solid two-way and physical play. With Hunt getting closer and closer to that record, look for his teammates to try and give him every opportunity to get there.

20-Goals

Tyler Maxwell now finds himself with goals in back-to-back contests, bringing his season total to 20 goals. He's the first Thunder player to reach that plateau this season and first since Joey Martin scored his 20th goal last year on April 5, 2014.

The Thunder have had just one player reach that mark for the last three seasons with Harrison Reed the only man reaching that mark in 2012-13, and Kevin Baker in 2011-12. The last time the Thunder had multiple players to reach a 20-goal season was in 2010-11 when both Chris Lawrence and Fraser Clair did it.

The next closest Thunder players to hit this mark are Tyler Shattock and Jack MacLellan who are both sitting on 11 goals this season.

The last time anyone got to 30-goals? You have to go back to the 2009-10 season when Chris D'Alvise ended the year with 34 goals. That season a total of four players hit past the 20-goal mark including Matt Robinson (traded from Jamestown), Jamie Bates, Oren Eizenman and of course D'Alvise, who led the bunch but was second to Bates in points that year.

All-Time Watch

We're monitoring the situation between Garet Hunt, Ryan Constant and Mike Lalonde as Lalonde's all-time lead in points could be in danger of falling to one of the Thunder's star players soon.

Lalonde's 156 career points is in jeopardy as Garet Hunt pulled within 2 points of the tying the record with 154 while Ryan Constant sits right behind him at 151.

Both players have missed time due to injuries this season as Hunt missed 11 games while Constant was placed on Injured Reserve on December 14.

Hunt is the only one close to Lalonde's all-time record of 72 goals with his 60 markers, putting the Thunder captain 12 shy of tying the record.

Interesting Fact

The Stockton Thunder have six different players on point streaks ranging from 2 games to 5 games including Tyler Maxwell (2 games 3-1-4), Jack MacLellan (4 games 3-4-7), J.T. Barnett (4 games 2-3-5), Vinny Scarsella (5 games 1-7-8), Garet Hunt (4 games 3-2-5) and Mario Larocque (3 games 0-5-5).
