Ottawa Lynx News Release
OTTAWA - With the 1,000th in Lynx history in the books, it's time to celebrate in style.
The Ottawa Baseball Club and Sun Life Financial Ottawa East will be giving away $1,000 to one lucky fan at tonight's game between the Lynx and the Syracuse Chiefs at Lynx Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
Fifty fans will win one ball to throw at a bucket placed on the Lynx Stadium pitcher's mound. The fan that gets their ball into the bucket will leave the Stadium $1,000 richer. If no one successfully gets their ball in the bucket, the closest ball will win. If more than one fan gets their ball in the bucket, there will be a tiebreaker round.
There are several different ways to win your way into the contest. Look for the red voucher that says you've won the chance to throw for $1,000!
The Lynx earned the 1,000th win in club history with a 1-0 victory in the first game of a doubleheader against Rochester last night.
This is the first season the Lynx are the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Lynx Box Office is Open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Ticket information can be found at www.ottawalynx.com or by calling 613 747-LYNX (5969).
