
Three Timbers Players Called up for International Duty

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers announced today that three players have been called up by their respective countries for the FIFA international break. Participating in the upcoming Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup World Qualifiers, Timbers defender Pablo Bonilla will represent Venezuela and forward Felipe Mora for Chile. Defender Bill Tuiloma will join New Zealand for a pair of friendlies.
For Venezuela, Bonilla will be taking on Brazil (Oct. 7), Ecuador (Oct. 10) and finish against and Chile (Oct. 14). Chile and Mora will face Peru (Oct. 7), Paraguay (Oct. 10), and lastly Venezuela (Oct. 14). Tuiloma and New Zealand will play against Curacao (Oct. 9) and Bahrain (Oct. 12).
Bonilla, 21, is set to join the Venezuela Men's National Team for the first time. Bonilla has been part of the Venezuelan U-20's and U-23's since 2019, most-recently in the 2020 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament when he started and played three consecutive first round matches.
Mora, 28, has made eight appearances for Chile, recording one goal since making his debut on May 31, 2018. He scored the first goal of his international career in a 3-2 victory over Guinea on Oct. 15, 2019. Mora has appeared in three South America World Cup qualifiers, including a 1-1 draw against Bolivia on June 8.
Tuiloma, 26, joins New Zealand for the first time since 2018. Tuiloma has been part of New Zealand's U-17, U-20 and U-23 teams before making his senior debut on Oct. 15, 2013, at the age of 18. The Beach Haven, New Zealand native has made 26 appearances for All Whites.

Following the international break, Portland will travel for a road match against the LA Galaxy on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Dignity Health Sports Park. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) and will feature a local broadcast FOX 12 PLUS with radio broadcasts on 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
