North Little Rock, AR - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals scored three in the seventh to top the Arkansas Travelers 3-2 on Wednesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.

With Arkansas leading 2-0 in the seventh, 3B Mauricio Ramos, C Cam Gallagher and 2B Carlos Garcia produced three singles in a row to load the bases with one out. Travs starter RHP Tyler Carpenter (L, 4-8) was removed from the game for RHP Eduardo Paredes. Paredes threw a wild pitch that allowed a run to score, and RF Logan Moon then lined a two-run single to center to put the Naturals up for good.

Arkansas scored both of its runs in the second inning when RF Zach Welz launched a two-run home run to left in his first-ever at-bat with the Travs.

Welz finished 2-for-4 with the home run, two RBIs and a stolen base.

Carpenter worked a season-high 6.1 innings and allowed the three runs on six hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

The Travs went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position and were 1-for-14 over the last two games.

SS Anthony Phillips reached twice with two walks.

The three runs in the seventh were the only three earned runs allowed by the Travs over the three games in the series.

With the loss, Arkansas dropped back to a game behind Northwest Arkansas out of first place in the Texas League North second half standings.

The Travs will begin a seven-game road trip on Thursday with a four-game series in Tulsa. First pitch Thursday night is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
