Kannapolis, NC - The Intimidators (52-61, 21-21) scored three times in the bottom of the eighth inning, all coming on a bases loaded triple by Jim Gallagher to secure a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Drive (60-56, 20-26) Friday night.

The Drive entered the frame clinging to a 2-0 lead as Terumasa Matsuo hurled 7.0 scoreless innings. The right-hander limited Kannapolis to three base hits and two walks, while fanning five. However, the Intimidators offense came alive against Felix Ventura (2-3).

Three consecutive batters reached base for Kannapolis with one out, as Ronnie Gaines was hit by a pitch, and Sergio Miranda and Eduardo Escobar singled to set up Gallagher's heroics.

Greenville broke a scoreless tie in the top of the first as a Johnnie Lowe wild pitch allowed David Marks to score with the bases loaded. The Drive would leave two runners in scoring position as Lowe struckout David Mailman and Carlos Fernandez to get out of the jam.

Fernandez pushed across the Drive's second run, this time in the top of the fifth. The first baseman hit a one out RBI-single following Mailman's double.

Adam Bowling and Santo Luis were perfect over the final 3.0 innings for the Intimidators. Bowling (3-1) fired two innings, striking out three and Luis struckout two in the ninth to earn his first save of the season.

The Drive and Intimidators continue their four-game series Saturday night with first pitch set for 7:05 PM. Right-hander Chad Povich will toe the rubber for Greenville as Kannapolis counters with right-hander Levi Maxwell.

Greenville returns home to Fluor Field on Monday, August 11th when they begin an eight-game homestand. During the homestand, the Drive will welcome their 1,000,000th fan to Fluor Field.
