Bridgewater, NJ - After trailing 3-0, the Somerset Patriots (11-9, 55-34) stormed back to defeat the Reading Fightin Phils (11-9, 40-49) by a final score of 6-3 before 6,833 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday night.

Tied 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth, Jesus Bastidas (10) belted a three-run walk-off home run to left field to give the Patriots the win.

In a scoreless tie through six innings, Logan O'Hoppe (15) added the first runs of the game in the top of the seventh on a three-run homer to left field to put the Fightin Phils up 3-0.

Mickey Gasper (7) then crushed a no-doubt solo shot to right field before Anthony Volpe (13) launched a two-run homer to left field in the bottom of the eighth to level the score 3-3. Gasper batted 2-for-2 on the night with an RBI and a run scored.

Matt Minnick (4-2) pitched a shutout in the top of the ninth and struck out two batters to pick up the win. Brian Marconi (4-5) suffered the loss after he allowed the three-run walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth.

Sean Boyle pitched six scoreless with just two hits and four strikeouts in a no decision.

The 2022 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Sunday, July 24 with a 5:05 pm game against the Fightin Phils at TD Bank Ballpark.
