The Harrisburg Senators beat the Altoona Curve 2-1 Saturday night at FNB Field. Luis Reyes led the Sens, tossing 6.2 innings and allowing just a single run. Harrisburg scored single runs in the third and fourth innings and then hung on from there. With the win, the Senators have two straight and have won the series against Altoona.
Reyes allowed just three hits while walking three and striking out seven. He had three one-two-three innings and tossed a big double play ball in the seventh inning after a leadoff single. Brian Gonzalez allowed a double after entering in the seventh but retired the final batter of the frame. Danny Dopico pitched into and out of trouble in the eight by striking out three batters. Reid Schaller pitched around a two-out walk in the ninth to record his second save of the season.
Gilbert Lara drove in the Sens first run with a one-out double in the third, scoring Omar Meregildo. Harrisburg scored their second and final run in the fourth on two-out doubles by Justin Connell and Israel Pineda. The offense managed just six hits and went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Harrisburg was held without a home run Saturday night snapping their team home run streak at eleven games. The franchise record is held by the 1993 Senators as they homered in 16 straight games. Harrisburg was again errorless in the game, the 51st time they've been errorless in a game this season. Altoona leads the season series 9-8 with one game remaining in this series and six more games in Altoona in August.
