Three Generals Ranked in Central Scouting Rankings

NHL Central Scouting today announced their preliminary rankings of players eligible for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft which included three members of the Oshawa Generals.

The list includes the current Top 25 ranked Forwards and Defencemen and the Top 8 Goaltenders from the Ontario Hockey League up to this point in the season.

Generals Centre Boone Jenner was ranked 7th, rookie Right Winger Nicklas Jensen was ranked 9th, and rookie Left Winger Lucas Lessio was ranked 17th.

Also of note, former Generals 2nd round selection Tyler Biggs was ranked 1st among United States Hockey League prospects.

Jenner was the runner-up for last year's OHL Rookie of the Year after posting 19 goals, 30 assists for 49 points in 65 games for the Generals. This year he is serving as one of the teams Alternate Captains and currently has 5 goals, 7 assists for 12 points in 17 games this season.

Jensen was selected by the Generals with the 8th overall selection in the 2010 CHL Import Draft this past summer. The Herning, Denmark native has scored 7 goals, 10 assists for 17 points in 20 games so far this season.

Lessio was acquired by the Generals in September 2009 and joined the team in July 2010. The Maple, Ontario native has posted 6 goals, 9 assists for 15 points in 20 games this season.

The 2011 NHL Entry Draft will take place June 24th and 25th at the Excel Energy Centre in St. Paul, Minnesota.
